Tigers Claw Beavers, Notch New Season High Score

Paced by Susan Jackson's 39.650 all-around score, Summer Hubbard's 9.925 bars score, and Sam Engle's 9.925 on balance beam, the #10 LSU Tigers dominated the #6 Oregon State Beavers 196.925 to 195.525 Friday night in Baton Rouge. With this new season high team score, LSU's RQS will rise to 196.110 when the new rankings are released Monday morning.

For Jackson, it is her 8th all-around title in 9 meets this season. Engle's beam score was a new career high.

Over 5,600 fans attended the meet, which is particularly impressive considering the #1 LSU baseball team was in action just down the street at a sold-out Alex Box Stadium. Over $38,000 was raised to benefit Foundation 56 - former LSU Tiger and current Dallas Cowboy Bradie James charity. Foundation 56 raises funds and awareness for breast cancer early detection in the local area.

In all, a big night for LSU gymnastics. Next up, the Tigers welcome Iowa for senior night in the Maravich Center on Friday night.
