The Mexico City native helped the Tigers to the team's first 197+ score of the year by hitting a career high 9.825 on beam, 9.825 on bars and 9.80 on vault.
Georgia's Christa Tanella shared the honor with Garcia.

Ericka Garcia Named SEC Freshman of the Week
Ericka Garcia picked up the first of what will hopefully be many awards to come. The Southeastern Conference office named her Co-SEC Freshman of the Week for her performance last Friday night against Iowa.
